The various disruption in past academic years due to COVID 19 Pandemic and uncomfortable weather conditions created lots of learning gaps. In such, the Department of Education continues to implement the National Learning Camp or NLC. This program serves as the department’s intervention for various shortcomings encountered during the formal school days. NLC requires moderate learning activities that focuses on coping with the two fundamental goals of National Learning Recovery Plan (NLRP) which are Reading and Numeracy. This year’s NLC is dated to start on July 1, 2024 and will end after 4 weeks on July 28 of the same year. National Learning Camp (NLC) 2024 will focus on the competencies of MATATAG Curriculum. In support to the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and as a sub-program under the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP) aimed at addressing learning loss, the Department of Education (DepEd) is set to continue the National Learning Camp (NLC) during the 2023-2024 End-of-School Year (EOSY) break. The NLC is a voluntary program that will start its phased implementation with Grades 7 and 8 focusing on English, Science, and Mathematics. Schools may also conduct other EOSY break activities such as Reading and Mathematics Program for Grades 1 to 3 and enrichment activities in other grade levels alongside the phased implementation of the NLC to support learning recovery across grade levels.
