The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA) and the Bureau of Alternative Education (BAE), has announced the schedule for the 2024 Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test. This important assessment provides opportunities for learners who did not complete formal elementary or secondary education to obtain a certification equivalent to basic education.
What is the Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test?
The Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test evaluates life skills and competencies as outlined in DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2016. Passing the test allows learners to gain certification for further education, employment, job training, or promotion.
- Registration Period: October 21 – December 2, 2024
- Test Administration:
- Luzon Cluster:Â January 26, 2025
- Visayas and Mindanao Clusters:Â February 2, 2025
Who Can Register?
Eligible applicants include:
- ALS Learners:Â Enrolled in the Learner Information System (LIS) for the 2024-2025 school year on or before October 31, 2024.
- Previous ALS Completers:
- Those not in the LIS who did not pass the previous A&E Test but completed additional learning interventions certified by ALS teachers.
- Those who failed to meet minimum points in the Presentation Portfolio Assessment (PPA) but completed further learning interventions.
Applicants must be at least 12 years old for the Elementary Level test and 16 years old for the Junior High School Level test on or before the examination day.
Registration Requirements
- Original and photocopy of a valid Birth Certificate or alternative legal documents (e.g., baptismal certificate, voter’s ID, valid passport).
- One 1×1 ID photo with a white background and name tag.
- Certification of Portfolio signed by the ALS teacher or community implementer.
Important Guidelines
- No fees will be charged for registration, test administration, or certificate issuance.
- Registration will take place at designated Schools Division Offices (SDOs).
- Only registered applicants with complete requirements can take the test. Walk-ins are not allowed.
